Whereas, Many students in the 112 California Community Colleges are ill-informed of the accreditation process and what it means;
Whereas, Many students attending colleges which are placed on warning or probation are in fear of losing financial aid and losing transferability of their course credits; and
Whereas, The California Community College accreditation administration does not disclose adequate information to students of the status of the accreditation reports;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges work with the all accrediting agencies to better inform the students at campuses of the accreditation process;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges work with local districts to ensure that the student body at each campus are given access to the accreditation reports and the requirements that are needed to meet recommendations by these agencies; and
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges post FAQ’s of accreditation reports on SSCCC website.
