Whereas, California Community College diverse student populations have a demonstrated need for improved access to quality educational opportunities on local, regional, national and international levels;

Whereas, Alternate format instructional delivery processes meets the evolving needs of community college students for world-wide accessibility, flexibility and convenience;

Whereas, California Community Colleges have responded with significant technological advances in alternate instructional delivery formats for the benefit of college students, by use of web-based distance learning, telecourses, handheld device delivery and hybrid courses; and

Whereas, These alternate instructional delivery processes promote student success and continuity of educational advancement by the removal of traditional barriers to continued educational growth, such as geographical limitations;

Resolved, That the Student Senate of the California Community Colleges recognize the vital importance of the continued development and use of
alternate forms of instructional delivery so as to promote increased student enrollment, student retention, and student involvement by the mitigation of traditional education barriers that students may experience.
