Whereas, Many universities have alumni associations that help connect alumni to their college after they graduate;
Whereas, Community colleges could benefit from having a similar system in place, especially when it comes to donations to the college foundations;
Whereas, Creating and fostering a bond between a community college of graduation and an individual alumnus demonstrates the vested interest
community colleges have in their students; and
Whereas, The Foundation for California Community Colleges currently lists only prominent alumni of community colleges via their publication
Affinity Magazine;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges collaborate with the Foundation for California Community Colleges in
creating a community college alumni association for the California Community Colleges; and
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges disseminate information about this new alumni association once it is created to local senates, as well as local campus administrations in order to urge participation.
