Whereas, Students are faced with an acute shortage of counseling services at the California Community Colleges;

Whereas, Students need to be given as many self-service options of support, including online delivery of a variety of student services;

Whereas, No single “clearinghouse” of student support services exists for the entire California Community College system, thus making the navigation of a variety of services disjointed and hard to navigate; and

Whereas, The California Community College’s Technology Division has been working on and piloting the concept of unified student services;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges support the creation of a single system web portal for all student services functions and documents and services;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community support the creation of a portal featuring student e-portfolios that allow a student to have access to services including, but not limited to, his/her transcript information, information on degree progress, transfer progress, financial, e-texts, distance education, counseling resources, college comparison resources, career exploration resources, common assessments, scholarship availability, student purchasing services, job availability, and others; and
