Spring 2011
Committee:
General Assembly Planning, Resolutions
Whereas, The Student Leaders for California Community Colleges attend the General Assembly (GA) in the Fall and Spring Semester and on the Sunday of each GA there is Resolution voting. Sunday afternoon most colleges and the delegate leave, there’s quorum check that takes up time and eventually lost of quorum. This leaves resolution unresolved until the next GA.

Whereas, On Sunday there are students leaders trying to move out of order to have their resolution heard, because there is not enough time to go through a package of resolutions.

Whereas, Student Leaders leave early on Sunday afternoon to catch a flight or other form of transportation to go back home. Student Leaders are Students first and most students have; homework, projects, test or other school related work that students have to do for the following week. This leaves the remainder of resolutions to be brought up at the following GA.

Resolve, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges move the start of resolution voting at GA to start on Saturday after the lunch session to allow more community colleges to vote on the resolutions which would allow for adequate time for further resolutions to be read and take action on.
