Whereas, Compton College’s loss of accreditation status negatively impacted FTES;

Whereas, The accreditation umbrella provided though AB318 (Dymally, 2006) at El Camino Community College is intended to assist Compton’s return to fully accredited status; and

Whereas, Any reduction of programs and faculty positions would be contrary to the intention of AB318 and the system’s desire to re-establish Compton’s accreditation status as a college and to preserve programs and faculty positions;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges urge El Camino College and Compton Community College District to refrain from reducing Compton’s programs and faculty positions while Compton is in the process of trying to re-establish its viability as a fully accredited college.
