WHEREAS, many California Community College Student Government members are not knowledgeable in the Brown Act, Robert's Rules of Order and Parliamentary procedure.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to cultivate and foster a strong leadership foundation among all members of the student government.

WHEREAS, many community colleges under represent students due to unfilled positions due to lack of support and training.

WHEREAS, not all community colleges are providing the appropriate training by licensed and certified professionals. Leaving Student leaders ill informed, struggling to reaching their full potential. Cheating our society with lack of effective civil minded future leaders.
RESOLVED, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges advocate that each community college district implement mandated Parliamentary procedure and Brown Act Student Senate For California Community Colleges training of at least eight hours yearly, four hours at the beginning of each semester (or quarter) with continuous ongoing training.

RESOLVED, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges advocate for community college districts to promote civic development of current and aspiring leaders and improve effectiveness, and professional development by providing leadership and team building training.

RESOLVED, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges advocate to encourage Leadership to be a shared community effort to continually increase participation and commitment to obtain better prepared leaders by empowering members with leadership learning, offering resources, support and structure.

RESOLVED, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges address the need to establish better communication between students, staff, directors, regions, districts and the state.
