WHEREAS, the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) is the recognized student body for the two million, one hundred thousand students of the California community college system;
WHEREAS, the Student Senate for California Community Colleges’ governing documents require the Senate to maintain legislative and policy advocacy as one of its mission’s three pillars of engagement;
WHEREAS, the Student Senate for California Community Colleges the March in March brought attention to issues that were considered of high priority to the Student Senate to the attention of the legislature by having students march to the capitol; and
WHEREAS, the Student Senate for California Community Colleges replaced the March in March event with the Advocacy in April event; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Student Senate bring back the March in March event;
RESOLVED, that the Student Senate use the March in March event as a lead into General Assembly when possible;
RESOLVED, that when scheduling or finances do not permit the March in March event that the SSCCC then has the Advocacy in April event; and
RESOLVED, that the Student Senate encourage local associated student organizations participate through regional outreach.

Status
Scheduled for March 19, 2020; however, was cancelled because of the COVID-19. The 2020 - 21 Board of Director will discuss 2021 March in March at a future meeting.
