Whereas, We are in tough economic times where students are struggling to register for classes, to make ends meet, and are racking up high amounts of debt at their time of graduation;
Whereas, The community college system's number one priority should be to pursue efforts such as increasing classes and instruction in order to restore the 500,000 students that the system has lost and turned away since 2007-2008; and
Whereas, Despite the draconian cuts that community colleges have endured during the past five years, administrators across the state continue to receive salary increases while the amount of students on waiting lists continually increases;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges formally opposes the increase in administrative salaries during times of budget reductions and direct the Student Senate Council to investigate options in regards to proposing legislation to preclude said increases during said times.
