Whereas, The regions of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges have direct control over Regional Senators through regional
accountability and the authority to elect or remove ineffective senators;
Whereas, The average cost of a monthly Student Senate for California Community Colleges meeting is approximately five thousand dollars for the thirty member council;
Whereas, The majority of the internal problems of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges have had at their heart, the lack of
accountability and actions of At-Large Senators who have an ambiguous job description; and
Whereas, The Student Senate for California Community Colleges has declared a state of financial crisis and has very limited income;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges amend its Constitution and Bylaws to turn the ten At-Large Senators into a third Regional Senator seat allowing them the benefit of direct accountability.
