Whereas, California Community Colleges have already seen a $30 billion cut from federal student aid programs;

Whereas, 52,225 California Community College students received a combined total of $184,962,813 in subsidized loans;

Whereas, Subsidized loans have already been eliminated from graduate students; and

Whereas, 472,702 California Community College students received a total of $1,560,172,140 in federal Pell Grants;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges join the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), United States Student Association (USSA) and millions of students across the nation in helping save student aid;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges provide awareness over the Listserv about the campaign, including but not limited to, urging students, faculty, administrators, family, friends and associates to join Save Student Aid on Facebook;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges urge everyone through the Listserv to call Congress before the Super Committee deadline of November 23, 2011 and tell Congress about the importance this aid is to our future, within which to include personal stories; and

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges continue to monitor the status of federal aid and provide status updates through the Listserv of action taken with regards to any changes to federal student aid.
