WHEREAS, the spring 2017 General Assembly was cancelled in response to budgetary concerns
from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office;
WHEREAS, most of the Student Senate for California Community College’s legislative work
occurs in the spring semester; and
WHEREAS, in the future such budgetary issues may occur again;
RESOLVED, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) board of directors advocates that if there is only one general assembly in an academic year due to budget concerns, that the general
assembly is held in the spring, instead of the fall semester.
