Whereas, Community colleges are diverse and welcome many historically underrepresented groups that face a unique challenges; and

Whereas, Caucuses have been effective on many levels of government in pinpointing specific obstacles faced by individual demographic groups;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges recognize caucuses as an important advisory role in issues pertaining to specific demographics;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges authorize the creation of caucuses which shall follow the same structure as Student Senate committees and be confirmed by a simple majority vote of the Student Senate Council;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges will not provide funding from the Student Senate budget to caucuses, nor shall caucuses speak for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges; and

Resolved, That the Student Senate Council shall amend its Bylaws to create policies which govern caucuses and have these policies in place no later than the Fall 2011 General Assembly.
