Rules
Whereas, The Student Senate for California Community Colleges is composed of twelve internal committees that are currently composed exclusively of council members and region officers;
Whereas, The power of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges is derived from its diverse, wide-reaching and populous constituency, and in establishing a more diverse membership in Student Senate Council committees, a greater level of quality and efficacy in decision-making can be reached;
Whereas, Appointing non-member students to Council committees will increase direct involvement between local associated student organizations and the Council; and
Whereas, Increasing direct involvement between local associated student organizations and the Student Senate Council will not only empower student organizations but provide more insight to the operations of the Council, increasing local associated student organizations buy-in and support of the Council;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges amends its current bylaws so its twelve standing committees may appoint non-member students as the respective committees deem appropriate.
