Whereas, The violence that befell Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University has affected the entire nation and has particularly impacted the students;

Whereas, The random nature of this violence and the scale of it occurring as it did at an institution of higher learning is deeply disconcerting and profoundly saddening; and

Whereas, The Students of the California community colleges are desirous of actively supporting our fellow students at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, their faculty, families, and their community;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges support our students at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in mourning those lost to this senseless tragedy;

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges express its deep sympathy and condolences and offer its full support in speeding the healing process to the students, faculty, families and community of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and

Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges encourage local student solidarity through supporting (including but not limited to) mental health, counseling, violence prevention and conflict resolution programs for students, faculty and staff.
