Whereas, students who purchase their textbooks often look to resell them at the end of the term;

Whereas, typically a student will receive only a fraction of what they originally paid for the book, even if it is brand new and has only to be used for one semester; and

Whereas, the rising costs of textbooks and materials increase barriers to those students who face difficulties affording a community college education;

Whereas, many students can’t return the book back even if the professor is using it for the next semester; and

Resolved, that the Student Senate for California Community Colleges Regional Senators work with their respective regions to research and find reasonable and effective programs on textbook buyback and have a report by the Fall 2014 General Assembly.
